Two Main Groups of Foreigners

I have a lot of experience talking to foreigners in Korea or reading their stories in books or online. There is a book called Faces of Korea with sections written by foreigners from different countries about their experiences. I'd recommend this book. I read it around two years ago. The stories I most remember are the stories written by the Nigerian, the Australian hotel singer, the Russian English teacher and the Australian (I think) English teacher.

There are also sites. I can't think of any that is more famous or has been around longer than Dave's ESL Cafe http://www.eslcafe.com/. There is also http://www.englishspectrum.com/ which is think is only on Korea while Dave's is open to stories or information from any country. There is a newer one http://www.ratemyhagwon.com/ which looks interesting and there are many more. Just do a search. I used to look at these, especially Dave's, a lot but I these days I only look at them once in a while.

There is another group that has it worse in Korea than English teachers and that is foreign factory workers. Although in a way they have it better because the money they are making in Korea is ten times or more than they can make at home, and many of them come from countries where there are no jobs anyway, so they are much better off in Korea because they have a job.

There are others in Korea - businessmen, embassy workers and others but I don't have much experience with them. There are even I've heard some foreigners such as Iranians or Nigerians which have been allowed to stay in Korea permanently because of their countries' situations.

When writing about how foreigners see Korea of course I will write about the two groups I know - teachers and factory workers.
